Five political parties including CPN-UML have protested the decision taken by the Local Body Restructuring Commission, Morang regarding restructuring of local body in Morang district. Organizing a joint press conference in Biratnagar this afternoon, RPP-Nepal, RPP- Nepal Workers Peasants Party and CPN-ML besides UML have alleged the Local Body Restructuring Technical Assistance Committee of preparing falsified structure against the previous decision of the political parties. The committee has opted to create confusion while demanding graduation of Biratnagar Sub-Metropolis to Metropolitan City without completing the stipulated criteria for the same, the parties accused. It requires at least 255,000 population to become a metropolis. The Biratnagar Sub-Metropolis, according to the parties, has only 201,000 people. The Local Body Restructuring Commission has recommended one metropolitan city, 10 municipality and six village body in Morang district. -
